John 3:16...  “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life". 
 

Discussion thoughts... Only one scripture is needed to determine the genealogical lineage from Adam to Jesus.  The problem is that we do not have ages when all these people were born so we cannot determine the exact number of years from Adam to Jesus!  There have been many scholars who have studied scriptures and history to determine the ages when all these people were born and determine the exact time from Adam to Jesus... suffice it to say the "exact" time line cannot be determined.  Scholars have depicted the birth of Adam to be somewhere around 4026 BC to 3954 BC (numerous scholars have studied the time line and have arrived at different dates but they all seem to center around 4000 BC).  The time line shown below is a compilation of times as published by various scholars... other sources may show different dates... years shown are either birth years of various people or dates of events.

My Thoughts and Beliefs... it is interesting to study the time line from Adam to Noah to Abraham to David to Jesus and maybe even the future... maybe it helps us understand what happened and when it happened.  But the important item to understand and believe is what it says in John 3:16.
